According to the Gestalt approach you experience psychological problems when the contact with your surroundings is disturbed and you are not able to reorganize this contact and thus restore it. This view is different from that of most psychotherapies that see psychological problems as a disturbance of mental balance.
Because sometimes you’re confronted with situations you can’t handle. You feel listless, scared, insecure or sad and do not have enough strength to solve these problems on your own.
